Dávno, dávno před našimi časy, žil jeden chudý prasátkář. Byl to statečný muž, který se staral o své prasátka lépe, než o sebe sama. Jednoho dne se však rozhodl, že potřebuje něco více než jenom práci na farmě. Rozhodl se vydat do světa a najít si bohatství. To, co ho čekalo, však bylo mnohem více, než si kdy dokázal představit. Jeho cesta ho zavedla k odvážnému hrdinovi, kouzelnému růženci a královským dvorům. Toto je příběh Prasátkářova růžence.
Once upon a time, in a far-off land, there were three sisters. The eldest was vain, the middle one was timid, and the youngest was kind-hearted. They lived in a grand castle with their father, a powerful king. The king had one prized possession, a magical rosary made of pearls, called Prasátkářův růženec (The Swineherd’s Rosary).

The rosary had been passed down through the generations of the royal family, and was said to bring good fortune and prosperity to whoever possessed it. The king treasured the rosary and kept it safe in a locked room in the castle.

One day, a young swineherd named Janek stumbled upon the castle while tending to his pigs in the nearby forest. He saw the youngest princess strolling through the castle gardens, and was immediately smitten by her beauty. He knew that he was no match for a princess, but he wanted to impress her nonetheless.

Janek decided to approach the princess and offer her a gift. He searched the forest for days, and finally came across a row of rose bushes in full bloom. He picked the most beautiful rose and offered it to the princess. She was delighted with the gift and thanked him kindly.

However, the eldest sister saw this exchange and scoffed at the gift, saying that it was not good enough for a princess. She boasted about her own wealth and beauty, and claimed that she deserved the finest gifts in the land.

The middle sister was too timid to speak up, but she secretly admired the rose and wished that she could have one too.

The youngest princess was grateful for the gift and struck up a conversation with Janek. She found him to be kind-hearted and charming, and enjoyed his company. Before he left, she asked him to return with more roses, as the castle gardens were lacking their beauty.

Janek was overjoyed by the request, and set off into the forest to pick more roses for the princess. However, when he returned to the castle, the king’s guards stopped him and refused to let him enter. They saw him as a lowly swineherd and believed that he had no business in the castle.

Janek was determined to fulfill the princess’s request, so he devised a plan. He went into the forest and crafted a necklace out of acorns, painting the tops of each acorn with a red dye. He returned to the castle and offered the necklace to the princess, telling her that it was made from rare and valuable gemstones.

The princess admired the necklace and wore it everywhere she went. The eldest sister was envious of her sister’s new jewelry and demanded that her father find her something even more magnificent.

The king remembered the Prasátkářův růženec, and decided to give it to his eldest daughter as a gift. However, the magical rosary brought her no joy, and she grew increasingly unhappy.

Meanwhile, the timid sister was still secretly admiring the rose and wished that she could have one of her own. Janek overheard her wish and decided to make a rose out of the red acorns just for her.

Ponaučení z pohádky pro děti

Jednou za devatero horami a devatero řekami bydleli tři sestry – nejstarší byla namyšlená, prostřední plachá a nejmladší byla srdečná. Společně s otcem, mocným králem, žily v grandiózním hradě. Král měl jedno cenné a kouzelné pro dědictví, klenot – Prasátkářův růženec. Růženec sloužil jako talisman a zajišťoval svému majiteli štěstí a prosperitu. Král růženec miloval a skrýval ho v uzamčené místnosti hradu.

Jednoho dne se při pase vepřů blízkého lesa náhodou dostal až do zahrady královského hradu mladý čeledín Janek. Uviděl nejmladší princeznu, jak se prochází zahradou a okamžitě se zamiloval do její krásy. Věděl, že nejde o jeho společenskou třídu, ale i přesto se chtěl princezně nějakým způsobem zalíbit.

Janek se rozhodl princince nabídnout dar. Hledal celé dny až našel řadu růžových keřů. Vybral tu nejkrásnější růži a daroval ji princezně. Ta byla nadšená a Janekovi za dárek poděkovala. Nejstarší sestra však viděla výměnu dárků a usoudila, že pro princeznu je to nedostatečný dárek a tak navrhovala, aby dostávala věci mnohem větší hodnoty. Prostřední sestra si naopak tiše přála, aby dostala také růži.

Princezna si s Janekem povídala a byla s ním spokojená. Než odešel, požádala ho, aby jí přinesl další růže, neboť zahrada hradu potřebovala svou krásu. Janek se rozhodl splnit žádost princezny a šel do lesa pro další růže. Po návratu mu ale strážci zabránili vstup do hradu. Viděli v něm pouze obyčejného čeledína a shledali, že nemá nic v hradě dělat.

Ale Janek byl odhodlán splnit princezninu žádost, a proto vymyslel plán. V lese sestrojil náhrdelník z žaludů, na které natřel vršky každého žaluďu rudým barvivem. Vrátil se k hradu a nabídl princezně náhrdelník, řekl jí, že je zvláštní a drahokamové, takže si jej mohla vzít s radostí na krku. Princezna oceňovala nový doplněk a nosila ho všude s sebou. Nejstarší sestra byla záviděla a chtěla od otce ještě nádhernější dar; král se rozhodl darovat jí Prasátkářův růženec. Ale ani ten jí nedokázal přinést dlouhodobé štěstí.

Prostřední sestra ještě stále toužila po růži a Janek její přání uslyšel a tak jí růži vyrobil s červeně natřených žaludů.

Nakonec si nejstarší sestra uvědomila, že materiální věci nedokážou přinést skutečné štěstí. Princezna, nejmladší sestra, vyhodnotila opravdovou hodnotu lidí a věcí kolem sebe na základě jejich srdce a lásky. Tak se zamilovala do Janka. Prasátkářův růženec se stal v království legendou, ale opravdovým pokladem byla laskavost a pokora, kterou Jank ukázal, přinášející radost lidem kolem něj a způsoby, kterými žádný drahý dárek k nikdy nedokáže. Pohádka nám tak ukazuje, že pravá hodnota se měří láskou a srdečností, které uplatňujeme vůči ostatním.
